In book 3, Diamonds & Dust, we learned that Tulsi’s older sister Reece was a professional rodeo bull rider. I was stoked because I knew this heroine would be tough as nails, living on the road as a traveling cowgirl in a male dominated sport/profession. She has a worse relationship with her father than Tulsi ever did and we soon learn why, making you dislike Dale Hearst even more and his wife for being a doormat.
Grayson Parker is recently retired from the Air Force and has returned home to the family ranch after his father’s death. He’s also taken in his sister who left an abusive marriage and together they have to figure out how to turn around the ranching operation to actually make money. He’s previously suffered through PTSD & nightmares from when he was injured during while being deployed. He’s broody & moody, but plenty hot to make up for it.
Reece is determined to keep Grayson at a distance as a friend and possible lover. She also only plans on being in Lonesome Point for the 10 days that her parents are in Montana visiting Tulsi & her family. So at first, she doesn’t want to risk any entanglement and then thought it would be okay since anything they started would have an expiration date. But what they find is so much more than either one expected.
Mild Spoilers: Tulsi never knew about what had happened between her sister & Neil and the subsequent scandal and rumors and the downfall of Neil’s business & the attack being the real reason Reece left town. I find this totally implausible, especially in a town as small as Lonesome Point and the scandal resulting in Neil being kicked of the Rodeo judging board and the decline of his horse lesson teaching business. All of these things would have been talked about in a small town for several years. I don’t believe that Tulsi could have escaped the rumors.
Also, when Grayson rescued the people & had to fly out with the pilot talking him through it, because he didn’t know how to fly, since she was injured & unable to fly. I find this implausible because Grayson was in the Air Force. I would think he could fly almost any of the equipment but may need some minor help.
I think the author missed the boat by not showing Reece have a conversation about the past with her sister and having a real discussion with her parents face-to-face. The phone call from the hospital room wasn’t sufficient enough for me. I needed more and a deeper healing.

Reece's story of being a bull rider and allowing herself to let someone in at a low point in her life. Her tough exterior was broken down by Grayson little by little. Loved the series so far especially with little parts of previous characters making an appearance.
I can not get enough of this series....
Jessie continues to capture my attention with her Lonesome Point series. Reece and Grayson's story deals with real life issues and really makes you think about what's right. I won't do any spoilers but if you're looking for a great book with a smart aleck heroine and a sexy cowboy hero buy this book now!!
Another heart warming book by Jessie Evans. The entire Lonesome Point, Texas series is superb. Reese and Grayson have a place together in their lives!!! Enjoy finding this place with them! Excellent read!!
I love all the Lonesome Point books. Grayson and Reese's story was wonderful. It made me laugh, cry and kept me on the edge of my seat . Grayson helped Reese with trusting and leaning on someone once In awhile and that's ok, this is from his own experience from being in the military and things he's experienced and understood where she was coming from, and he made her see you can still be tough and independent and still love someone,
Jessie Evans has created a place and group of characters that I never want to leave. Lonesome Point, Texas is is not a perfect place. Life, with all it's ups and down, challenges and uncertainties also includes commitment and love. I think that's why these stories resonate for me so much. The characters are real - they are not perfect. They have foibles and flaws yet still strive to gain what I believe we all want - acceptance and love. Grayson and Reece pulled me back to my favourite town and I enjoyed every minute I spent there - when I was laughing and also when I was crying. My new favourite!
Really they softened each other, quite an emotional book of feelings. I'm so glad they ended up together. She had quite the skull fracture, when she almost died, I bet she has a little girl. Their sex was Grrrreat!!!! I don't think they ever got tired, he said 10 minutes and she said 3. I'm glad his dad got put in prison and they all got along with her family. Moving to Montana they say!!!! Ready for the next one!!!
